Senior Project Manager

Neopost Software is looking for a Senior Project Manager to head its Project Management team.  This individual will report to the company’s Director of Business Development and will lead a team of 2-5 Project Managers by providing technical, analytical, and managerial guidance.  The ideal candidate will be responsible (directly, or through subordinate project managers) for coordinating all phases of projects of a highly complex nature and will act as a single point of contact for those projects and its stakeholders. The individual (directly, or their subordinates) will guide, measure, and report on projects from original conception through final implementation and will interface with all stakeholders affected by the project including end users and business partners.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a staff of 2-5 project managers. Mentor team to improve their understanding and skill, assign tasks, evaluate performance, as well as other supervisory activities. Provide assistance to team members with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems knowledge.  Lead project team meetings to assess status and resolve issues as they come up.  Ensure adherence to project management/agile processes and project documentation standards.  Act as a management resource for project team members.  Set and track company project management standards for both internal and external facing customers. (45%)


  • Project Management: Define project scope and create clear and attainable project objectives through interaction with external and internal stakeholders. Create/manage project backlogs and estimate project timelines.  Develop project cost estimates and track budget actuals throughout the project.  Conduct sprint plannings, retrospectives, and stakeholder demos.  Track status of projects and deliverables utilizing defined KPIs and burndown charts.  Provide project updates and ongoing cost analysis to management.  Analyze and make recommendations to assist with remediation of problems that may arise.  Optimize results within business and time constraints.  Meet with management and stakeholders to cooperatively devise solutions to business problems.  Work on special projects as assigned.(55%)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of the software industry.
  • Expertise with software development lifecycle and Agile development practices and tools.
  • Ability to apply agile principles in a “non-Agile” world.
  • Experience with international, multi-lingual software solutions a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in the English language.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Visio, and Project.
  • Project Management and/or Scrum Master/Product Owner Certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of project development including process mapping, budgeting and timeline creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams towards project completion.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business and some travel requirements.
  • Strong process documentation writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to work well with people from a variety of business disciplines with varying degrees of managerial and technical experience.


Minimum Experience Desired:

  • B.S. degree in a related technical area, or equivalent certification/experience.
  • 4-6 years experience in a leadership role working in a software product development environment, including management of software project managers.



Junior Database Administrator

Neopost Software is looking for a Junior Database Administrator. This individual will report to the company’s Manager of Information Technology. The Jr. Database Administrator is responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, maintenance and repair of Neopost Software’s databases. The databases include both PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL. Duties include troubleshooting database performance issues, reviewing configuration looking for opportunities to improve performance and actively analyzing log files to spot issues. Other duties include scripting to generate reports from the database, assisting developers with database design and optimizing SQL queries and assisting Professional Services with customer integration projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Administering PostgreSQL databases
  • Assisting developers with database design and optimizing SQL querys.
  • Adhoc reporting requests
  • Troubleshooting database performance issues
  • Actively analyzing log files to spot issues
  • Reviewing configuration and workflows looking for opportunities to improve performance
  • Role will evolve into providing customer integration support


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or four years of IT experience
  • Proven basic SQL skills
  • Very recent SQL / Database formal classwork (not a MS or Oracle certification course).
  • Administering Windows servers.
  • Experience with Linux (as desktop environment).
  • Experience with SQL Server (2005 or 2008)
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Experience with PostgreSQL as a user (psql, phpPgAdmin, etc.).
  • Experience with .Net (primarily PowerShell)


Specialized Knowledge or Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent customer service skills. The position requires occasionally interfacing directly with customers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills


Minimum Experience Desired:

  • Administering Linux on the server side
  • Administering PostgreSQL (8.0 and up, but the closer to 8.4, the better)
  • Extensive SQL scripting (any RDBMS)
  • Experience with a diverse range of technologies and/or industries.
  • Experience in a dynamic scripting language like Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology.
